The second Saw 5 trailer, above, shows some of the scenes from Saw IV. The end of Saw IV left the question of who was going to carry on the Jigsaw Legacy, it now appears that it is Hoffman.


The fifth insallment of the Saw series, Saw 5 also known as Saw V is set to be released on October 24, 2008. Released by Twisted Pictures and Lionsgate, this follows the Saw series trend of being released on the Friday before Halloween. Saw 5 is said to provide an explanation of what happenend to Corbett. The origins of Billy the puppet and the red tricycle are also set to be further explained, in addidion to the pices of flesh taken from victims in the shape of a jigsaw puzzle.

The glass box trap, previewed in Saw 4, is going to be explored more in Saw V. One of the traps is able to potentially kill the actor inside, so paramedics are going to be standing by during the shooting. At the end of Saw 4, Hoffman seems to be the last person alive to carry on the Jigsaw legacy. Saw V is about his secret, and the loose ends he is forced to elilminate in order to protect it.
